Ο πρώτος τετραπύρηνος επεξεργαστής χρονισμένος στα 3GHz ανακοινώθηκε σήμερα και είναι ST-Ericsson NovaThor L8580 αρχιτεκτονικής Cortex-A9 με PowerVR SGX544 GPU. Η αρχική εμπορική έκδοση θα είναι χρονισμένη λίγο πιο κάτω στα 2.5GHz και θα ενσωματώνει λειτουργία active-standby για να πέφτει η ταχύτητα χρονισμού στο 1GHz και να μειώνεται η κατανάλωση στο μισό.
